Lance Corporal Larry A. Draughn, Jr
was serving as a United States Marine in Afghanistan in May of 2009; while on a night patrol, Lcpl. Draughn was severely wounded
by an Improvised Explosive Device. Lcpl. Draughn has received a Purple Heart for his injuries. His family wanted to provide
him with a special Homecoming upon his return to Fairborn from Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington. They contacted Representative
Martin and Fairborn City Councilman Frank Cervone and the two worked together to put on this very special event. It grew
larger than anyone expected with more than two thousand citizens coming out and lining the streets between I-675 and
Lcpl. Draughn's home. A very special thanks goes to all who helped with the event including the Ohio State Highway Patrol,
the Patriot Riders motorcyclists (who had over 300 motorcycles leading the way), the City of Beavercreek, and the City of
Fairborn, as well as many many more. It was truly a moving event. Below are a few photos from that day. View
Rep. Martin's Facebook page for more photos.
